Let's mix things up

So when me and my family are going on a vacation we always search the web for the undiscovered places. When we went to Bali we ate at the locals and ask them if they had any tips for us. By doing it this way, we came at places we otherwise would never find. This lesson I now always have in mind when I look at destinations for when we go away for a weekend or just one night. While other people are chilling at the pool in their all inclusive hotels, the other half wants to experience something new. Something you want to remember. As a lifestyle professional it is my duty to look for things that inspire this trend and change in the tourism and how people experience leisure. Some examples are A cabin for rent inside a house, the Brooklyn-based artist couple Adam Frezza and Terri Chiao have constructed a bed & breakfast cabin inside their house that they rent out on Airbnb. The idea for a cabin in a loft was based on the house-in-a-house concept. I find this idea so cool cause you can meet with the locals but also have your private space. We can do this with garden houses or attics, it leads to so many possibilities.

Another thing is when I am going somewhere I always use the internet for research of must –sees or other things that I have to do in that city. Omnipresenz has the solution if you are done reading. With the Interface you can walk threw the city with full body controle. isiting a place, feeling the energy and hearing the city sounds. Experiencing the people, the culture and sightseeings. Have the ability of being at another place of your choice and time. This will have a huge influence on the choice of people where they will go when they actually visit the place. Or not? If we can experience everything from home, would we even go there?

My conclusion on this is that we are not going away just for the hot weather, pool or the golf course. It has to be special. And if it is possible also sustainable.
