Technology is making our life easier. With our smartphone information about products or producers are available under the thumb. All technology is able to connect with each other so we van save and use the information on everything everywhere. We can conclude that in the future technology will develop itself more and more and will take over every setor. But if we can print food and the knowledge of of how it is made, how can there be people still have hungry in the same world? The same world that on the other hand waste a ton of food per week, and the other way there are people with nothing.

If we take a look at another long-term trend, sustainability, we can see a radical change in people’s values about food. Most of the people are trying to be as healthy as they can and are looking for sustainable self-produced food. It seems like we all realise that the economical mass production of food is not good for our health and earth.

It’s not strange to notice that a lot of technology experts are moving to the food branch.

Farmland LP is a company, who combines the technological with sustainability (experts in the biological circulation). They reorganise the land of the farmer into a more sustainable way of food production. If we could combine more often technology and sustainability in the food branch, we should use our knowledge for the countries who does not have this knowledge.

We need to work together and find a sustainable way of producing, using and maby re-using our food and foodwaste. For example we can grow mushrooms out of coffee grounds. This experiment is created in an old swimmingpool in Rotterdam. In these way we can use the many vacant properties and experiment with technology versus food.
