Born in technology

So last week I went to the Moti museum in Breda to go to the exposition born in technology. I was born in 1993 so I experienced the whole grow of the internet. When I look out the window at my apartment in the centre of Breda all I see is children walking or sitting in their stroller playing games on the Iphone or Ipod. So I wonder, is technology going to take over everything? For example Art, art is something we usually connect with off line. But in Berlin there is a museum dedicated to the internet. Will our culture be based on technology in the future? Another thing I find was at google they developed an app for the Rijksmuseum where you can watch the artworks on the app and play the music or a guide to talk about the paintings. In addition to this you can also walk threw the 1650’s with an oculus on to experience the feeling of that time. This is based in Hoorn. This is a good example of the trend gamification connected to human movement. Are we going to walk threw history with only a glasses on. What does this means for the public transport or the tourbusses if we can just see it from home?

If you ask me, I could not live without the technology. I am just to spoiled with it. On the other hand, I love musea. I like to walk past the paintings and see how they painted it and all the hours they put in it. While typing this there is another thing that popped in my head. Art is developing we do not longer only paint portraits. It seems to me that the artist need to have a story behind it, it needs to shocked. Otherwise people will not talk about it. For example Banksy he is a famous graffiti artist but graffiti is for a lot of people still a form of vandalism. So for the children who are born in technology use it for the things you need, but do not forget you get lost in all the layers. Go experience and form your own opinion.
